If you experience errors in either ABC Analyzer or ABC Viewer please double check your data. The most likely scenarios are:
- Invalid or missing dates. Some lines might have missing dates instead of a default date eg.
- Numbers that come from Excel contain text to indicate calculation errors.
- Numbers have different decimal and/or thousand separator.
In ABC Viewer: The options for handling errors are limited - files intended for use in ABC Viewer should be strictly formatted and not contain errors.
Wrong data formats
Number and date columns are subject to strict interpretation in ABC Analyzer and ABC Viewer. ABC Analyzer will convert all non-number values to "0". For date columns the default date (Jan. 1st 1970 - aka. "01-01-1970") will be used.
Import from Excel file - Division of 0
In Excel/spreadsheets you can use formulas in cells. These can contain formulas that are invalid and/or produce invalid output such as division by zero errors. Excel will highlight these errors - for example a common way to display division with zero error is with the text #DIVISION/0.
These columns and their values can't be used as-is in ABC Analyzer and/or ABC Viewer.
